In other breaking news, it is likely that Luis Heredia aka ‘Rickson’s right hand man’ is likely to make a return visit to Australia towards the end of the year.  Updates will be posted on the website and also announced at training sessions so stay tuned.

The seminar was a great success and the feedback from club members who attended, was that they all found Luis and the seminar was absolutely fantastic.

During his visit, Luis also promoted the following people to blue belt: Andrew Lai, Phillip Grapsas, Alki Grapsas, Tarek Abu-Shaban and Kenan. Congratulations to everyone!  Special congratulations however goes to Murat Karadenizl, the head instructor of Nexus BJJ, who was awarded his brown belt by Luis!  Well done Murat!

Often described as the “most technical instructor in the world” Pedro was the first person in the world to receive a black belt without the Gracie name, and now becomes one of only ten people to have ever received a 7th degree black belt.

The whole team at Nexus BJJ congratulates Pedro and wishes him well in his trip to Brazil for the award ceremony held by Helio Gracie. Click here for more information on Pedro’s fantastic achievement.
