We are now over a month into 2010 and what an exciting start to the new year it has been! Below are just a few news snippets:

• Murat won gold in the 2009 Pan Pacific Brasilian Jiu Jitsu championships in the brown belt division.  A massive congratulations to Murat; a well deserved victory!
• A new training schedule has been posted with kickboxing being added and new BJJ sessions on Weds and Friday evenings. Check the schedule section for further details.
• And of course, a warm welcome to the many new club members who have joined over the festive season!

In more recent news, for those club members who were lucky enough to attend Ninos Dammo’s club recently hosted a seminar with the legendary Royce Gracie.  As well as having the chance to learn from Royce on the mats, Nexus BJJ head instructor Murat was also lucky enough to share a meal with him and hear some incredible stories!  Thanks very much to Royce for conducting such a great seminar as the new techniques learned have already started to be passed onto the rest of the club.

Finally, in other news the 2010 Victorian State BJJ championships is coming up on the 19th and 20th of March.  All members are encouraged to go and compete as it is a great opportunity to gain experience and watch some of the best in live action.  Further details are available on the AFBJJ website.
